S.T.A.R. is a weekend respite facility located in O’Fallon, MO for individuals over the age of 21 with developmental disabilities who display significant behavioral challenges. The adults, during their stay, will have the opportunity to enjoy an interactive, exciting, and safe environment in a fun-loving atmosphere.

The S.T.A.R. program has the capacity to serve five adults. Individuals that attend the program have their own private bedroom and a Jack and Jill-style bathroom. We provide 1:1 support during awake hours, and two staff overnight. Home-cooked family-style meals are served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Other services include:

  • Leisure and recreational activities each weekend
  • Community access
  • Field trips

Admission Criteria

  • Referral from a DMH or DDRB case manager
  • Active DMH ID number
  • Diagnosis of a developmental or intellectual disability
  • 22 years of age or older
  • Has significant behavioral, emotional, or mental illness challenges and can be supported with available resources including staff’s ability to safely support the individual
  • Able to participate in an environment with non-medical personnel
  • Able to benefit from participation in the program
  • Free from recent or ongoing threats or attempts at suicide that cannot be safely supported
  • Priority goes to St. Charles County Residents and those with funding from other counties will be assessed on a case-by-case basis

All referrals will be evaluated by program leadership to ensure the individual can be safely and appropriately supported.
