The leaves are changing and so are some things at Community Living!
Program Changes
- Kids as young as eight years old can now participate in our Social Opportunities and Recreation (SOAR) program. That includes our Teen Club after-school program, Summer Camp, and Break Camps.
- We’ve expanded Respite Services with the addition of a new program called Specialized Transitional Aged Respite (STAR). The program runs on select weekends for those who have aged out of traditional Respite Center services.
- The Young Adult Program is up and running in two locations. We’ve had so much interest in this program that we may be looking for a third site soon.
- You’ll also hear us tossing the phrase “Day Habilitation” out there. That’s what we’ll be calling the umbrella program that houses both the Young Adult Program and Support Services for Adults.
Strategic Plan Updates
We’re in the midst of launching our new strategic plan. Much of this plan focuses on where we’re headed. Here’s our strategy in a sentence: Community Living, Inc. will expand our current programming into Western St. Charles County by utilizing our reputation for creative, compassionate, and high-quality program delivery.
This new strategic plan made us rethink the way we talk about our services. This summer, we’re introducing a new mission, vision, values, and tagline. We think these better describe the work we do.

We provide individualized opportunities for people with disabilities to live their best lives.
