Learn how to spot warning signs of mental health conditions in youth and learn strategies to talk about mental health issues with loved ones

Come join us for the Ending the Silence presentation presented by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). This presentation is for caregivers to learn how to spot warning signs of mental health conditions in youth, tips for talking to loved ones about mental health, ways to collaborate with school staff to support your loved one, and how to recognize warning signs of suicide and steps you can take to help.

This presentation will be led by Mya Canty, the Program Manager of NAMI St. Louis. Mya is a St. Louis native, community builder, and mental health advocate dedicated to empowering young people. At NAMI St. Louis, she leads the Ending the Silence and Sharing Hope programs, expanding mental health awareness and culturally responsive community engagement. Mya is also the co-founder and curriculum developer of The Noire Series, creating experiences that empower youth to explore and celebrate Black identity, history, and culture.

Ending the Silence will be available both in person and online on 08/11/26 at 6:00 pm. If joining in person, doors open for this event at 5:30 pm. The presentation will be at Community Living, Inc.’s Admin building, which is located at 1040 St. Peters Howell Rd., St. Peters, MO 63376.
