Setup

These are things you’ll need to do before you can play. We recommend completing these steps before your party begins. You’ll also want to have game supplies on hand including a timer, enough writing utensils for each player, and something to keep score on.

How to Play

We give a basic outline of how to play each game. If you’ve seen a similar game played a different way, want to make the game more or less challenging, or always play with a different set of rules, feel free to make changes.

Make it a Fundraiser

If you’d like to use your watch party to put the “fun” in fundraiser, we have outlined some ways to do so. Please feel free to adjust any dollar amounts you see listed to match your attendees. Don’t forget to check out the auction items, too!

Not registered yet? The 2021 Legacy Ball is FREE to attend! RSVP online and we’ll send the watch party link prior to the event.

Draw & Pass Pictionary

Setup

  1. Print enough one-sided copies of the Legacy Ball Telephone Pictionary booklet
  2. Cut along the dotted lines.
  3. Assemble the booklets so the pages appear in order. If you have a larger watch party, print pages 1-12. For smaller parties, print pages 1-8 or 1-10. You want to make sure each booklet will end on a page that says “write.”
  4. Make one copy of the Telephone Pictionary word cards and cut along the dotted lines. Try not to peek at the words!

How to Play

  1. Place the word cards face-down in a pile and hand each player a game booklet. Each player should write their own name on the cover (page 1) of their booklet.
  2. Have each player choose a word card from the pile without looking at the other cards, and write their word on page 2 of their booklet. Set a timer for 2 minutes. Then, DRAW the word on page 4.
  3. When the timer goes off, have all players close and PASS their books to the person on their right.
  4. Have everyone flip to page 3 WITHOUT LOOKING AT PAGE 2.
  5. Have players look at the illustration on page 3, flip to page 4 and WRITE what they think the original word could have been based on the drawing on page
  6. When everyone has written a guess, close the books and PASS the book to the right.
  7. Continue the pattern of DRAW, PASS, WRITE, PASS until you reach the final “WRITE” page. Every player may not see every book.
  8. Return the booklet to the person whose name appears on the front cover and compare the final guess to the original word.

Make it a Fundraiser:

  1. If you get your book back and the final word matches the first, donate $1 to Community Living.
  2. If you get your book back and the final word was close, but not quite a match, donate $3 to Community Living.
  3. If you get your book back and the final word was totally different, donate $5 to Community Living.

Community Living Charades

Setup

  1. Print the Legacy Ball Charades word cards.
  2. Cut along the dotted lines. Try not to peek at the words!

How to Play

  1. Divide into two teams.
  2. Have a player from Team A draw a printed card.
  3. Set a timer for 3 minutes.
  4. Team A’s player will act out the words on the card one at a time. The remaining members of Team A will guess the word their teammate is acting out.
EASIER VERSION: Players can choose the order in which they act out the words, and can skip words if their team is having trouble guessing.
ADVANCED VERSION: Players must act the words out in the order they’re listed on the card and cannot skip words, even if their team is having trouble guessing.
  5. At the end of the 3 minutes, award the team one point for each correctly guessed word.
  6. Repeat, alternating teams until there is only one card remaining.

In Case of a Tie

  1. If the teams are tied at the end of the game, each team should elect a representative to act in a tiebreaker round.
  2. At the same time, both actors will act out the third word on the remaining card.
  3. The first team to correctly guess the word their teammate is acting out wins the game.

Make it a Fundraiser:

  1. Round One: For every point earned, add $1 to the opposing team’s “bill.”
  2. Round Two: For every point earned, add $3 to the opposing team’s “bill”.
  3. Round Three: For every point earned, add $5 to the opposing team’s “bill.”
  4. Round Four: For every point earned, add $10 to the opposing team’s “bill.”
  5. At the end of the game, the losing team must “pay their bill” by donating the total to Community Living.

How to Play

  1. Distribute cards prior to the start of the livestreamed event.
