The upcoming Memorial Day holiday is designated as a day to remember and honor all Americans who died in the military services. Many visit cemeteries to decorate the graves of not only veterans, but also other loved ones who have passed. For others, it is a welcome day off work and a chance to celebrate the start of summer.
Memorial Day reminds me of the friends and family that I have lost, bringing back a flood of memories. The Community Living “family” has lost so many of our friends/loved ones just within the past year. It is always hard for those of us left behind; the sadness and grieving can be overwhelming at times. However, we should not forget the amazing lives that we were privileged to know. The gifts each person offered, the true wisdom each person embodied, the life lessons they taught are all invaluable. I know my life is so much richer for having known each of these awesome individuals; I’m so lucky!
As we remember those who have gone before us, my wish for you is that you will share the gift of memories and truly take time to celebrate the amazing lives of those we have lost.
