We invite our friends in the community to attend Community Living’s Big Kahuna Bartender Challenge! The most exciting fundraiser of the summer is back.

With your support, the party will be bigger and better than ever as Community Living’s Staff and Board of Directors compete against each other in pursuit for the Big Kahuna title. Everyone is invited to join the festivities, which will take place from 6-9:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, at Gettemeier’s — St. Peters, 269 Salt Lick Road in St. Peters. (This is a smoke-free establishment.)

For $5, you gain admission into the event. From 6-7:30 p.m., the Community Living Staff team will be behind the bar and, from 7:30-9 p.m., the Community Living Board team will bartend. Both the indoor and outdoor bars will be open during these times.

Both teams will dazzle the crowd with their bartending skills in pursuit of earning the most tips during their shift. You will also be able to purchase 50/50 tickets from the staff team ($1/ticket or $20 for a wingspan) and booze raffle tickets from the Board team to win either a garden cart of booze or a cooler of beer ($5/ticket or $20 for five tickets).

During the night, Gettemeier’s will have the following specials:

  • Drink Special: The Big Kahuna: a Malibu based tropical cocktail served in a 16 oz. mason jar; $5
  • Food Special: Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Wrap: grilled chicken, with pineapple, shredded lettuce, mozzarella cheese & red onion tossed in a Hawaiian BBQ sauce and wrapped in a flour tortilla and your choice of 1 side; $9.99

At 9:30 p.m., the team who raises the most money throughout the evening will be crowned the Big Kahuna! All proceeds, including tips and cover charge, will benefit Community Living’s six dynamic services offered to individuals with disabilities.
