Currently, eight participants of Support Services for Adult’s Clever and Wilson Centers actively volunteer their time with the City of O’Fallon. Their tasks vary from Meals on Wheels deliveries to washing windows at the fire station.
On September 26, 2014, Community Living, Inc. won the City of O’Fallon’s IMPACT award at the 2014 Volunteer Recognition Banquet. The IMPACT award honors area businesses and organizations that have had a positive impact on the city and community.
Nick, participant at Clever Center, and Paul, participant at Wilson Center, attended the event with staff. The staff and participants agree it was a cool experience. “The speakers spoke really respectful of the participants,” one staff member said.
Community Living was nominated for the IMPACT award for being actively involved with the community. Mayor Bill Hennessey presented the award to Nick and Paul. “It’s an amazing organization that does so many incredible things here in the St. Charles County Community, but we love them most for what they have offered to us here in O’Fallon,” Alexis Jaegers, Volunteer Services Coordinator for the City of O’Fallon, said. “They volunteer each week to make a difference, no matter how large or small.”
